What is the IMCI-Plus project?

IMCI-Plus is an interdisciplinary, Pan-African-European Union research initiative which aims to improve the management of childhood pneumonia by pioneering the use of point-of-care lung ultrasound in everyday clinical practice, and policy.

IMCI’ is the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness which is a systematic set of guidelines used for the prevention and treatment of illness in children and includes specific guidelines for the management of childhood pneumonia.

IMCI-Plus’ refers to the integration of lung ultrasound, done at the patient’s bedside, into these childhood pneumonia management guidelines
